The central concept of Aristotle's ethics, is a concept of happiness or success. His journey toward good ethics is good in itself and not just because of something desirable. In other words, he was in supreme good. <span title="ارسطو انسان سعادت‌مند را انسان فضیلت‌مند می‌داند و تحلیل ارسطو از فضیلت، تأثیری چنان درازآهنگ داشته که در عصر حاضر، با بازسازی نظریه او، اخلاقی پدید آمده که به اخلاق مبتنی بر فضیلت (virtue ethics) موسوم است.
