This study presents a phenomenological exploration of Prophet Jacob’s (PBUH) narrative within William James’s framework to elucidate spiritual pragmatism and the reconstruction of suffering amidst debilitating existential afflictions. The central problem concerns maintaining existential cohesion under empirical uncertainty and prolonged loss through the practical functions of faith. Utilizing directed content analysis of Surah Yusuf and major exegetical works, the research identifies three analytical layers: First, the state of the 'Sick Soul,' manifested through blindness and physical decay (haradh), signifying the utmost emotional and physical distress along with a temporary sensory detachment from ordinary material interactions. Second, the manifestation of the "Will to Believe," embodied in "beautiful patience" (sabr jamil) and the conscious choice of hope despite contrary empirical evidence. Third, the realization of the "Cash Value" of faith, crystallized through objective healing (restored sight), reunion, and definitive meaning-making. Findings indicate that Jacobian faith is not an abstract dogma but a lived force and regulatory strategy that, by reconstructing suffering into meaning, leads the subject toward a "twice-born" state of existential rebirth. This comprehensive model of "Jacobian Resilience" offers a robust framework for understanding the nexus between existential faith, well-being, and significant spiritual flourishing in the face of contemporary crises.
