Daniel Dennett is an American philosopher who, by adopting a naturalistic approach based on Darwin's theory of evolution, attempts to explain religious concepts such as God in a material framework, while denying the objective existence of God. The existential argument, arguments based on the principle of causality, and the argument of order are among the arguments that Dennett has mentioned in his book Breaking the Spell. This research has attempted to explain, criticize, and evaluate Dennett's criticisms of such arguments using an analytical-critical method. Dennett had an incorrect understanding of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle in order to reject causal arguments.He is also unfamiliar with Anselm's existential argument and the criticisms and studies of theologians in this field, especially those of Islamic thinkers. Regarding the argument from order, Dennett, relying on atheistic understandings of the concepts of chance and natural selection, tries to show this argument as unfounded; in contrast, this article, by explaining the concept of chance among Islamic thinkers, explaining the finality of divine actions, and justifying the category of evil and waste in the natural world, has criticized Dennett's objections to the argument shown that the teachings of Islamic theology have the ability to effectively respond to these challenges.
