چکیده

Is human life meaningful, or is it merely a futile pursuit akin to "chasing the wind" ? The problem of absurdity and the quest for meaning remain central to philosophical inquiry. In this paper, I argue that if human life is structured around narrative, and if narrative is epistemically flawed, then the meaning we derive from our lives is systematically unreliable—rendering life absurd. My account unfolds in four steps: (1) (most) humans are narrative beings; (2) narratives are epistemically unreliable; (3) a life grounded in epistemic falsehood lacks meaning; and (4) therefore, life is meaningless and absurd. This account bridges epistemological nihilism and existential nihilism, grounded in the concept of narrative. I also discuss three influential accounts of absurdity: (1) the purposelessness of the universe, (2) the systematic gap between human desire and the indifferent world, and (3) the lack of rational foundations for life. I show how narrative account is a new way of thinking about absurdity. I conclude by suggesting a possible pathway out of this absurdity, involving a shift from propositional knowledge to holistic understanding, and a more modest conception of truth.
