Near-death experiences are among the most enduring human experiences, with numerous reports from ancient times. One of the important issues that philosophy of religion and modern theology are currently investigating in this field is the meaning of these experiences and their role in proving some religious beliefs, such as the metaphysical soul of man and life after death. In the meantime, the naturalistic approach has sought a multifaceted effort to explain nature from a reductionist and physicalist perspective. Among these efforts is the explanation of near-death experiences as a rereading and reconstruction of experiences archived in the brain. Given the importance of this issue in dealing with religious beliefs, the present study aims to examine and evaluate the aforementioned perspective. The research method will be in the form of library collection and rational-analytical judgment. The result of the research is that the aforementioned perspective has not succeeded in explaining the aforementioned experiences in any way, but on the one hand it lacks valid scientific support and on the other hand it is caught in the trap of comparing the two in many ways.
